Central CAPT Funding
Central CAPT is the Central Center for the Application of Prevention Technologies. It is funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). It is IAPP’s understanding that this funding is in jeopardy. It is through collaboration with Central CAPT that IAPP is able to provide the training necessary to youth workers in programs such as Afternoons ROCK. These programs have been successful in reducing ATOD use among Indiana youth. This reduction in use can be attributed to collaborative efforts between organizations such as IAPP, the Indiana Dept. of Mental Health & Addiction, the Indiana Prevention Resource Center, the Governor's Commission for a Drug Free Indiana, and Central CAPT. It is fair to say that funding for Central CAPT is essential to the overall prevention system in Indiana. It is not too late for our IAPP members to state their concerns with the possibly of this funding being cut. Please contact your State Representatives and other State officials. If we can explain the situation further or answer any questions you may have please contact our IAPP President Chuck Kime at (812) 342-3205.

As a reminder, if you are not receiving mailings from the IAPP, please contact the IAPP coordinator, Melia Rude at iapp@fspp.org to verify what address the IAPP has on file. Those who might change work addresses or have difficulty receiving all IAPP mail at their work address should consider using their home address as their contact information for the IAPP.
